CP24 is reporting that Rob Ford was in good spirits over the last couple of days, and that this was completely unexpected.

Press conference is starting.
"Rob is in good spirits and wants to thank the well wishers for all the thoughts coming in," Doug Ford.
"I had breakfast with him today and he said his stomach was bothering him… he went to the doctors and got admitted to Humber today," Doug Ford.
The tumour is in his abdomen. He is being investigated further to figure out what type of tumour it is.
"It wasn't a small tumour, but the size isn't as relevant as what is it. We haven't defined that yet. What we need is a biopsy and investigate if the tumour is anywhere else," Dr. Ruben Devlin
"I can't talk to the prognosis," Dr. Ruben Devlin.
What type of pain did the mayor?
"Left lower pain in his stomach. It's been going on for a few months but today it became unbearable to him," Dr. Ruben Devlin.
"I appreciate you coming by and I have informed you on what's going on. We'll chat tomorrow. If you could leave us alone for the next couple of days that would be great," Doug Ford.
Doug Ford refuses to comment on how this will effect Rob's running in the mayoral race.
"He is at the hospital. It's to be decided if he will stay there," Dr. Ruben Devlin.
"i'm not aware of anything previous," Dr. Ruben Devlin.
The press conference has abruptly ended.
