Ryerson University is hosting the fifth annual international Social Media & Society conference at the Ted Rogers School of Management this weekend. With a list of over 200 academics scheduled to speak, researchers will present and discuss their studies on the “impact and implications” of social media, according to the event website, during the two-day event.
The presenters come from universities and professional associations from all over the world - including Canada, the U.S., the U.K., Netherlands and Turkey. They will be speaking on a variety of topics relating to social media platforms, such as the way Internet affects social movements, how it’s used for public relations and for activism.
